Pet Rehab & Fitness

Improve your pet's mobility and recovery faster.

Physical rehabilitation uses non-invasive techniques to help reduce pain and improve mobility. Rehabilitation can be used to help patients return to function faster following orthopedic surgery and can help arthritic patients maintain their strength and mobility. At Parkway Veterinary Hospital, our rehabilitation services include therapeutic land exercises, laser therapyand acupuncture

There are a variety of conditions that can benefit from rehabilitation including:
•    Arthritis
•    CCL injury and post-op recovery
•    Hip dysplasia and other congenital/developmental conditions
•    Intervertebral disk disease
•    Lumbosacral disease
•    Degenerative myelopathy
•    Fibrocartilaginous Emboli (FCE)

Therapeutic land exercises:

Land exercises are used to improve strength, balance, and limb position awareness (proprioception). Common equipment used includes balance balls and discs, peanut stability balls, Cavaletti rails, and cones. An exercise program is tailored to each patient and their unique needs and is adapted as their fitness changes. We also provide owners with a home exercise program so they can help their pet progress between rehabilitation sessions.
